Behind The Scenes of BT

I've been lucky to call Marc Thiele a friend for many years. As well as enjoying many a cold drink together, we've collaborated on more than a few projects—including him being the main photographer for most of the big Shopify events I helped run.

So when he asked me to join him for his Behind the Scenes interview series, I happily agreed — despite my inherent camera shyness.

We covered a lot, but a few themes stood out:

• Feedback matters — Giving it, hearing it, and actually using it. Growth doesn't happen in a vacuum.
• Websites still matter — They're still a core touchpoint people judge you by, especially for events.
• The social media shift — A decade on, the landscape's changed. Know what's useful and ignore the rest.
• Craft and Work — Why I started it, who it's for, and what we're trying to build.
